Alexis Marjason, Director & Studio Owner
Alexis Marjason is the Director and Studio Owner of East Texas Dance Company, bringing nearly two decades of experience, passion, and leadership to the dance community. A proud alumna of the esteemed TNT Dancers and a member of the Tina Grider legacy, Alexis spent nine formative years performing with the team—an experience that deeply influences her work today.Her leadership journey began as Captain of the Spring Hill Drill Team, followed by the completion of her Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts from Kilgore College. Now entering her 19th year at the studio and her 5th year as Studio Owner, Alexis continues to serve as a full-time Instructor and Director of the TNT Dancers. In 2022, she was recognized as one of ETX View’s Forty Under 40 Women in Business, a testament to her impact in the local arts and business community. Known for her unwavering dedication to building confident, well-rounded dancers, Alexis brings heart, discipline, and creativity to every class and performance. Her mission is to inspire the next generation of performers to reach their fullest potential—on stage and beyond.
Tina Grider Lyon
Tina Grider-Lyon is the former owner of Tina Grider School of Dance, where she led the studio with passion and dedication for 35 years. Now, she continues to contribute to the studio as a full-time instructor, sharing her wealth of experience and knowledge with the next generation of dancers. A proud Kilgore College Rangerette and Swingster, Tina’s legacy in dance extends far beyond the studio. She was recognized in “Who’s Who” in Dance at Kilgore College and served as a Board Member for Rangerettes Forever. Tina also spent 13 summers teaching at the Mini-Rangerette Camps, shaping the skills of young dancers who aspire to follow in her footsteps. Tina’s impact extends throughout the community as well. She has attended numerous Dance Conventions across Texas, choreographed for Longview Community Theater Musicals, and contributed to local charities, including working with the Junior League of Longview Charity Ball Shows and the Christus Good Shepherd Hospital Guild, among other community organizations. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts from Kilgore College, and her passion for dance continues to inspire all those who have the privilege of learning from her.
Caitlin “KK” Bailey
Caitlin “KK” Bailey has been a dedicated member of the studio family since 2004. A former TNT dancer for 5 years, Caitlin now brings her passion and experience to her role as a dance instructor and Assistant Director of the TNT dancers. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler and currently works as a physical therapy technician at Ascend Physical Therapy in Longview. With a strong commitment to both dance and health sciences, Caitlin plans to apply to Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) school, continuing her journey of combining movement, education, and care to inspire the next generation.
Carli Howard
Carli Howard is returning for her 12th year as an Instructor and 7th year as a Director with the Mini and Elementary TNT Dancers. She is a former student at the Studio and was also an Officer for the Kilgore High School Hi-Steppers. She earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Drew Bates
Drew Bates is entering her 5th year as both an Instructor and Assistant at the Studio. A proud former student and dedicated member of the TNT Dancers for 11 years, she now brings her passion full circle by also serving as Assistant Director for the TNT Dancers. Drew holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreational, Park, and Tourism Sciences with a Certificate in Event Management and Youth Development from Texas A&M University. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Child Life Specialty from Texas Woman’s University. Her dance journey began early, including serving as a 2 year officer for the Kilgore High School Hi-Steppers. She continued to pursue her love for dance throughout her time at Texas A&M. Drew’s experience, education, and lifelong commitment to the arts make her a valued leader and role model within the Studio community.
Natalie Fowler
Natalie Fowler is a dedicated dance instructor beginning her 3rd year on staff, following 9 years as a student at the studio. A former TNT Dancer, Natalie brings a wealth of performance experience and a deep understanding of the studio’s values and training approach. She was also a company member of the Longview Ballet Theatre, where she developed a strong foundation in classical ballet. Natalie’s training includes time with Ballet West in Utah, where she had the opportunity to perform in multiple professional productions—an experience that greatly shaped her artistry and technique. Natalie is passionate about sharing her love of dance with the next generation and is committed to helping young dancers grow with confidence, discipline, and creativity.
Rachel Clower Hurt
Rachel Clower Hurt is entering her 4th year as an instructor and Director of the TNT Dancers at East Texas Dance Company. A former student of the studio for 9 years, Rachel danced as a TNT Dancer for 5 of those years, laying the foundation for her deep passion for dance and performance. During her time at Kilgore High School, she was a standout member of the Hi-Steppers, where she served as both Junior and Senior Lieutenant. Rachel continued her dance journey at Kilgore College as a Rangerette and Swingster, further honing her skills on a prestigious stage. She then pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Education from Texas Christian University (TCU). Rachel is also passionate about extending her love for dance beyond the studio, working with Encore Creative Productions to continue growing her artistic and production experience. Her commitment to fostering talent, building confidence, and nurturing passion in her students makes her a valuable mentor and leader within the dance community.
Rachael Kidder
Rachael Kidder, also known as “Acro Rachael,” has had a lifelong passion for both dance and gymnastics, starting her training at the age of 3 and continuing until 13. Although she took a brief break from the arts, her love for movement never faded. She returned to pursue her dreams, earning a Bachelor of Science in Dance Performance and Choreography from Stephen F. Austin University. While in college, Rachael became certified in Acrobatic Arts and began teaching all styles of dance across various age groups at a competitive studio. This hands-on experience helped her refine her teaching skills and deepen her understanding of dance. In recent years, Rachael has found her true passion in acro dance, where she combines her background in gymnastics and dance to create a dynamic teaching style. She is deeply committed to helping students strengthen their skills, build confidence, and form a meaningful connection to the art of dance. For Rachael, there is no greater joy than seeing her students grow both technically and personally through the power of dance.
Sydney Langley
Sydney Langley is entering her 3rd year as Office Manager at East Texas Dance Company, where she also manages costumes during Recital and serves as the studio’s full-time Social Media and Marketing Manager. A former student of the studio, Sydney danced with the TNT Dancers for an impressive 11 years, making her a valuable asset to both the administrative and creative sides of the studio. During her time at Kilgore High School, she was a member of the Hi-Steppers, serving as Junior Lieutenant and Captain, demonstrating strong leadership and dedication to her craft. Sydney graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, further enhancing her skill set and expertise in strategic communication. Her passion for dance, combined with her professional background, allows Sydney to seamlessly blend creativity and business to ensure the smooth operation of the studio while effectively promoting its mission and values.
Nicki Patterson
Nicki Patterson is celebrating her 10th year as the Office Manager at East Texas Dance Company, where she also serves as the instructor for our Musical Theater Dance class. With a rich history at the studio, Nicki previously directed the Ballet Program for 15 years and was one of the original directors of the TNT Dancers, shaping the foundation of both programs. In addition to her work at the studio, Nicki has choreographed for numerous East Texas musicals, choirs, and dance camps, bringing her artistic vision to life on a variety of stages. She also spent 11 years teaching English and Psychology at Kilgore High School, inspiring students in the classroom as much as she does in the dance studio. A proud former Rangerette Officer and Swingster, Nicki’s legacy with the Kilgore College Rangerettes runs deep. She served as President of the Rangerettes Forever organization and continues to work closely with the East Texas Rangerettes Forever regional alumni group, strengthening ties within the dance community. Outside of work, Nicki enjoys swimming, reading, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She cherishes traveling with her husband of 47 years, Danny, exploring new places and making lasting memories together.
Hailey Pitman
Hailey Pitman is excited to begin her 1st year as an instructor and assistant at East Texas Dance Company. A former student of the studio for 9 years, Hailey spent 6 of those years as a TNT Dancer, showcasing her dedication to both performance and the dance community. In high school, she was a standout member of the Longview High School Viewettes, serving as Junior Lieutenant and Senior Captain. Hailey’s dance journey continued at Kilgore College, where she was a proud member of the 84th Line of the Kilgore College Rangerettes, further honing her technical skills and performance experience. Hailey has also earned two Associate’s Degrees in Arts from Kilgore College, cementing her strong educational foundation in dance and the arts. With her background in both leadership and performance, Hailey is passionate about fostering growth and confidence in her students as they develop their dance skills.
Claire Sherwood
Claire Sherwood is entering her 3rd year as a staff member at East Texas Dance Company, where she is excited to share her love of dance with the next generation. Currently a Junior Elementary Education major at East Texas Baptist University, Claire is also a member of the ETBU Pom Squad, continuing her passion for performance and teamwork. Before attending college, Claire dedicated 15 years to dancing at the studio, spending 8 of those years as a TNT Dancer. Throughout high school, she was an active member of the Bobcat Belles, where she served as Chaplain and Senior Lieutenant. Claire’s leadership and commitment were further demonstrated when she was crowned Miss Hallsville 2022-23. Claire is looking forward to combining her education with her passion for dance to inspire and teach young dancers across East Texas.
